A 38 person field enjoyed a crisp New England Autumn morning for the Mount Greylock roller-ski race. Â By the top of the eight mile climb it was Holderness School’s Fabion Stocek who crossed the line first in a time of 48:21. Â In a time of 55:21 the ladies’ race was won by former CXC skier Maria Stuber, who is now the assistant cross-country running coach at Bennington College and will be skiing for the Craftsbury Green Racing Project this winter.
The men’s podium was rounded out by Bret Beddard (Berkshire Trails) in second place in a time of 49:31 and Sproule Love (Manhattan Nordic Ski Club) in third with a time of 49:52.
On the ladies’ side it was Cristina Knapp (Williams College) with a time of 1:00:41 in second and Elena Luethi (Williams College) in a time of 1:01:39 who claimed third.
The Mount Greylock Roller-Ski race was hosted and made possible by Steve Blazejewski, owner of Berkshire Outfitters.  An extremely large raffle prize table was sponsored by Berkshire Outfitters, Swix, Atomic, Fischer and FasterSkier.  The event is a benefit for the Northern Berkshire Special Olympics.
